The official launch weekend of the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival takes place for our 7th year in Sefton Park on the 19th – 21st of September 2014.

The more familiar Liverpool Food and Drink Festival will return on Saturday and Sunday, and this year is set to be even bigger and better than ever before!
Once again, there are many different, exciting areas at this year’s festival to keep adults ad children busy over the weekend. We are also welcoming the amazing celebrity chefs, Tom Kerridge and Yotam Ottolenghi, to the celebrity chef arena at Sefton Park this year too.
As well as the various foodie areas across the park, there will also be two pop-up restaurants brought to us by Picked Walnut and The Art School.

The Restaurant Arena
The biggest space in the festival is the Restaurant Area, which is full of our favourite local restaurants! As well as serving their signature dishes, many chefs will be creating unique, one-off dishes that will only be available at the festival.
Street Food Area
The Street Food Area will be buzzing with exotic flavours and unusual cuisine, served from quirky street food trucks.
Heavenly Chocolate Area
Chocoholics will be pleased to hear that there will be a Heavenly Chocolate Area at the festival, which will house a number of dedicated chocolatiers.
The Market Place
Why not take a taste of the festival home? The Market Place will feature fresh produce from celebrated local and regional producers, showcasing cheese, meat, oils and breads etc.
Kids Zone sponsored by Water Babies
Families will be pleased to hear that there is a whole area dedicated to budding young foodies with lots of fun food-related activities for little ones to enjoy! Cupcake decorating, a food themed bear hunt and interactive cookery workshops are just some of the exciting activities going on. There’s also a buggy bank, hosted by Alder Hey Charity, where parents can leave their buggies for the day!
Edible Garden sponsored by Love Food Hate Waste
Those with green fingers should keep an eye out for the edible garden at the heart of the action, sponsored by the fantastic Love Food Hate Waste, whose mission is to help us reduce food waste.
The area will be a hive of activity, literally, with live beehives and interactive talks on the wonders of honey. There will also be seed and food bombs, edible flower salads and teas, live chicken pens and even potato painting!
In addition, Ashton Green Allotments will be hosting interactive planting activities in the garden.
Café Area – Spirit and Wine Zone
The Café Area is the perfect place to relax with a tea or coffee and if you fancy something a little stronger to unwind with, then head over to our Spirit & Wine Zone!
