AMATEUR BAKERS CHALLENGE AT THE FESTIVAL!
We are delighted to announce a brand new element to the 2012 Liverpool Food and Drink Festival! The Great Merseyside Bake Off sponsored by Typhoo!
As part of this year’s Liverpool Food & Drink Festival, TV’s Great British Bake-off judge Paul Hollywood is returning to his Merseyside roots to find the region’s best amateur bakers.
12 amateur bakers will be appearing in the Park to face of against each other to become the first Great Merseyside Bake Off Champion!
The Great Merseyside Bake Off will be judged by Paul Hollywood at the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival in Sefton Park, from 1-2 September.
All heats will take place in the park and can be watched by the public live!
The Liverpool Food and Drink festival would like to thank John Lewis at Livepool ONE for providing the baking equipment used in the Great Merseyside Bake Off heats and final.
There will be 2 heats on Saturday and on Sunday there will be a CELEBRITY BAKE OFF followed by the Grand Final!
The Celebrity Bake off takes place on Sunday 2nd of September

As well as being crowned the winner at the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival, the best baker will receive two tickets to the prestigious Liverpool Food & Drink Awards on Monday 10th September, where they will be presented with an award in front of Merseyside’s top food and drink talent. As part of the prize, the winner’s recipe will also be featured as ‘cake of the month’ in the café at John Lewis in Liverpool ONE.
