Brian Mellor- Harthill Cookery School
BRIAN MELLOR is an award winning Master Chef of Great Britain, former Head Chef at BBC and Executive Chef at Granada TV. He has been involved in almost everything to do with food from cooking privately for celebrities and royalty to overseeing dozens of chefs in busy restaurants.
Brian is also instantly recognisable at food festivals and has been at the forefront of our chefs performing live. His cookery demonstrations are entertaining and carefully adorned with useful information about ingredients and good food.
Now Brian runs the Harthill Cookery School in Cheshire. Harthill is an ‘Old Victorian School that was previously abandoned. Harthill Cookery School unlocked its doors for the first time in eight years. ‘It is a shame that so many old buildings are not being used these days that were once the hub of village life. At Harthill it’s like living with history, this building holds many memories for so many people. I wanted to retain the school’s character and keep its place at the heart of the community.’ says Brian.
As well as his own experience, Brian has enlisted the help of his expert colleagues – an enthusiastic influx of chocolatiers, artisan bakers, cheese makers, game keepers and the like who provide hands on sessions and demonstrations! Not to mention the link with nationally acclaimed nutritionists and dieticians.
This Autumn, the Calendar of cookery courses is vibrant, full of flavours and aromas of freshly baked breads, roasted meats, homemade sauces, relishes or French patisserie.
