The Ship & Mitre Beer Festival in the Park
We are proud to announce a great new area to the festival. Our friends at The Ship & Mitre will be bringing their famous beer festival to the park!
The Ship & Mitre Beer Festival at the festival launch weekend in September will include a staggering 50 real ales! 20 will be local & 30 from the rest of uk.
Not a real ale fan? Well they will have that covered too with a choice of 10 fruit ciders, 20 german beers – mixture of Pilsener, Kolsch, Weissbier & Dunkels and 30 belgian beers – mixture of fruit, wheat, blond, brown & abbey beers.
Make sure you don’t miss this new element to the festival!
The Ship and Mitre is known to many as Merseyside’s Premier Real Ale pub. It was Liverpool & District CAMRA Pub Of The Year in 2009. The name derives from a combination of two previous names, The Flag Ship and The Mitre. An original 1930′s Art Deco building, the interior has been changed to resemble that of a ship.
The Ship and Mitre serves an excellent range of cask conditioned real ale, imported draught and a wide selection of German and Belgian beers. It is well known amongst CAMRA members and is regularly featured in Merseyale and The Good beer Guide. There are 15 handpumps offering real ales and ciders from microbreweries all over the country. Each brewery only delivers one barrel of each brew, which is why they have three menu boards placed around the pub so you don’t have to walk around looking at all of the pump clips (as some of you still do!) Each of the barrels is cask conditioned and with this and the hard work of the best cellar man ever, the customer receives an excellent pint!
In addition to these ales, we also have a wide range of beers from around the world. From German Pilsners and Czech lagers to the famous Strawberry Fruli. In the fridges, there are 100+ German, Belgian and American beers which all need to be tried!
The Ship & Mitre has recently launched a bottle shop in Liverpool City Centre, The Ship In A Bottle, on Whitechapel near the Met Quarter. In the shop you will find bottled ales, ciders and all the weird/wonderful beers you have come to expect from The Ship. Please visit our new website for a list of products, photo gallery and a comments/review section, or better yet take a wander round as the shop is less than a 10min walk from the pub.
